Our Creative Dramatics program introduces children from pre-school through fourth grade to theater arts by naturally building upon their gifts of imagination and role-playing. In each class, children enjoy becoming a part of the magic they create on stage through innovative games, story dramatization and improvisation. Participation in the theater arts helps children expand their creativity, improve self-confidence and learn the importance of teamwork—all while having fun!

Performing Arts Workshop

Our Performing Arts Workshops are designed both for experienced students who wish to improve their acting skills and for novices who simply have a desire to participate in the performing arts. In Performing Arts I (grades 4 – 6), students learn the basics of acting for the stage including warm-up techniques for both voice and body, improvisation, theater games, stage direction, and solo and group scene work. In Performing Arts II (grades 7 – 9), young artists hone their skills with in-depth scene study and line memorization. While more intense, this program is also appropriate for first-time student.

Musical Performance Lab

Do you love to act and sing? If so, this in-depth program is for you! Each week, students focus on musical performance technique, including breathing, warm-up and vocal production, as well as song interpretation, movement and performance. Participants rehearse both solo and group pieces, and the lab culminates in a “show and tell” class for parents and families!

Theatre Dance New 2013

Wednesdays, Jan 23 – Apr 17 (12 weeks no class Mar 27) Grades 7-9xxxxxxxxx4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
No prior dance training is required to participate in this one-of–a-kind program designed to benefit the actor who is new to dance, as well as the dancer who is new to theatre. Storytelling through movement is the focus of this course, and students learn how choreography interprets stories for the theatre. Each class begins with a contemporary jazz warm up, followed by instruction on theatre dance techniques. In the final session, students present in an informal dance showcase for family and friends.

Voice Lessons New 2013
Tuesdays, Jan 22 – Apr 16 (Individual Time Slots 12 Weeks)
Professional teaching artists Sandy and Danny Taylor are offering private voice lessons for teens ages 13 and older. Both Sandy and Danny performed in our 2012 production of Seussical, and they have extensive experience working with young performers. Voice lessons are offered in 12 weekly 30-minute sessions beginning at 4 p.m. on Tuesday afternoons.
