Theatre Dance Workshop

January 2014, date to be determined.

Join in the fun with this 2-hour Theatre Dance Workshop. Working with Growing Stage Choreographer, Jillian Petrie, participants will focus on storytelling through movement. Our one-of-kind workshop will benefit the actor who is new to dance, as well as the dancer who is new to theatre. An integral part of dance performance is for the audience to connect to the story being told, and it will be this program’s focus to bring our young performers to a whole new level of storytelling through movement. The workshopw will begin with a contemporary jazz warm up, followed by focus exercises on dance techniques needed for the theatre. The session will culminate in the creation of original choreography that will interpret and retell a well know fairy tale. The workshop is open to all young people ages 10+. No prior dance training required. Space is limited to 15 participants.

Cost: $75
